SAEED AHMAD BODLA Calligrapher

SAEED AHMAD BODLA is a renowned artist and calligrapher of Pakistan. As his name indicates, he belongs to the famous BODLA family in Punjab. SAEED AHMAD BODLA is an inspiration to all the calligraphers in the Islamic art. He depicted his love and perception about Islam through his paintings. His work indicates his true love for religion.

SAEED AHMAD BODLA studied fine arts as a major from department of fine arts, Punjab University Lahore. He has a long experience in Islamic calligraphic art and holds many achievements. His famous works include 99 ISMA E HUSNA and SURAH MUZZAMIL that consists of 22 ayahs. He introduced new unique style of calligraphy. He used art and motifs at the background of the calligraphy. He has painted several Holy Quran verses in 63 Oriental Scripts and at least in 22 various Mediums.

His work includes beautiful calligraphy of 99 names of ALLAH with the artistic background. He is a very kind hearted man who loves god and his creation. He loves helping others. This is the only reason he keeps on donating a large quantity of his excellent masterpieces to different art galleries. On November 14, 2009, he donated a huge collection of his calligraphic artwork to Punjab university library where his collection is labeled as Islamic art gallery. It is the matter of pride for Punjab University that he himself is their student.

He had his famous exhibition at ALHAMRA arts council in 2004.

His calligraphy includes SURAH MUZZAMMIL in 30 paintings, in multiple oriental scripts. He is a living legend for Islamic world and pride of Pakistani nation. He is among those few artists who are born with passion and art inside their heart. His exceptional achievement includes a world record for using 63 oriental scripts in 99 names of ALLAH. Moreover he used 22 mediums in ASMA E HUSNA series which is not less than a remarkable achievement.

The Government of Pakistan, the Organization of Islamic Countries and the UNO are strongly urged to separately honor this extremely awe-inspiring and exceptionally talented harbinger of peace through art. Most of his artwork includes paintings made in oil. Few black and white sketches are found made in pen as well. The true lover admits himself that he only paints for self satisfaction and not for money or fame. On one occasion he said, "My work is not for sale, I paint for myself.” this makes his fans fall in love with him.
Only lucky nations are blessed with the people like him. Pakistan must feel lucky to have such an inspiring personality as its belonging. We should all respect him and should learn from his life and paintings.
