Mazhar Kaleem was the famous Urdu spy fiction writer. Therefore, this name is no unfamiliar for any literature paramour and aficionado. Mazhar Kaleem kept the record of more than 5000 children stories and over 600 spy fiction novels such as the “Imran series”.
He was born on 22 July 1942 in Multan. His real name was Mazhar Nawaz Khan but he became popular with the name of Mazhar Kaleem. He got his early education from Islamia High school and done his matriculation in 1957. As a professional career, he decided to join the Law field. So he completed his LLB and became a lawyer. Because of his writing and talent passion, he also done master in Urdu literature from the Punjab University Multan. Mazhar Kaleem father was a police officer therefore, when he was child he showed his enthusiasm into investigative stories.
Because of friend assistance he wrote his first spy fiction novel Makazonga in 1960 and which became the reason of Mazhar success. Makazonga novel broke the all record in spy fiction and in Urdu literature field also Mazhar Kaleem got worldwide fame and recognition. Makazonga enhanced and incentivize his writing skills. He decided to start career as a writer rather than lawyer. After the death of Ibn-e-Safi, he polished the “Imran series” comprehensively with his compelling and powerful writing skills and took it to the new level. Enthusiastic wait the whole month for his new story which published on the monthly magazine. Even in the India, many writers copied his stories.
He went through many apprehensive and shattered situations like the death of his son slammed his life comprehensively. He had hosted the radio show “Jamhoor Di Awaz” in Seraiki. He also provide his services to the law field as a Vice President of Multan Bar Council.
Mazhar Kaleem passed away in 2018 on 26 May and he was 76 years old when he died. He has four daughters and one son. Although it is the eminent and painful truth factor of the life, we acknowledge that every person will die one day but still Mazhar Kaleem will remain alive forever in the heart of Enthusiastic also who admire and recognize him as the legend of Urdu spy fiction writer as well as he earned a great fame as a writer throughout in his life.
