The Pakistan International Human Rights Organization (PIHRO)

Pakistan is going through many crises including the political and economic factors. Due to this reason, people here are deprived of proper awareness and basic necessities of life. This has not only disturbed their financial needs but has also made them psychologically ill by depressing their life. They do not want to participate in any welfare program. They are fed up of their lives and everyday newspapers are full of incidents of suicides that people commit due to poverty, unemployment and depression. In such scenarios, good people start to work for the betterment of the people.

The Pakistan International Human Rights Organization (PIHRO) was established in 1999 as an independent non-profit, non-political and non-governmental Organization. It is registered as an NGO under Social Welfare Agency Ordinance 1961, Government of Pakistan. PIHRO endeavors to serve humanity, work for human welfare and to help the downtrodden and the deprived. It started with the aim of bringing back the self-respect and security in the lives of the people who feel insecure and naked in front of the selfish world. PHIRO provides them the environment where they get awareness about their basic rights and get motivation by learning that everything is going to be alright.

They help them to maintain their lives by helping them morally, educationally and financially. From a modest start in 1999, the Organization has been extending its activities and has already set up a number of branches, not only in the four provinces of Pakistan but also in FATA, Northern Areas and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. The aim is to extend the activities of the Organization throughout Pakistan, initially, to every district headquarters and later to sub-district level and to involve in positive work the youth, who are the future custodians of the country.

Like every other organization, PHIRO values the contribution of youth and aims to involve youth of Pakistan in this noble cause as they are the builders of the future and should know the rise and fall of the country. They also want youth to be engaged in such activities so that they can become responsible and know about the problems that their fellow citizens are facing. They want to motivate them to adopt a positive and constructive approach and mobilize their creative energies to remain in Pakistan to serve their country, to work for promotion of Human Rights, Social Justice, Social Peace, Stability and Public Order. The older generation has the responsibility to inspire and to motivate the youth and to guide them to accept the challenge of peace, social justice, economic development and protection of Human Rights.
