Aurat Foundation

Aurat Foundation:

Aurat Foundation &is a non-profit, non-political NGO which is working for the protection of women rights in Pakistan.  Its head office is in Islamabad along with one regional office in every provincial capital of our country i.e. Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta).  From every part of country, members have joined Aurat Foundation as volunteers. 

Capacity building in women and providing information are the aims for which Aurat foundation is struggling countrywide in association with citizens groups and organizations.  To educate women is the primary purpose of Aurat foundation because; it is well known reality that, women can protect their rights only if, first of all they themselves know what their rights are.  

According to Aurat foundation, for a sensitive and responsive attitude and behavior from society women’s awareness and unity are two basic tools.  For development policies and planning’s advocacy with public representatives is undertaken to give women access to development opportunities and resources.

Aurat foundation understands importance of transparent and accountable governance and for that reason they are putting efforts on developing and strengthening citizen’s struggle which would result in great reward for whole of the nation.   Due to more than 25 years continuous struggle, Aurat foundation is recognized nationally and internationally as one of the top ranking institution working for women rights and for the empowerment of women economically, socially and politically.
