Imran Khan


Introduction:
Imran Khan Niazi is a Pakistani cricketer, philanthropist and a famous politician. He is also doing the charity work and is a founder of Shoukat khanum memorial cancer hospital. He played Pakistani cricket team for the two decades and after retiring he entered to the politics. He is a Pakistani most successful crictet team captain who makes it possible for the nation to get the 1992 Cricket World Cup. He started playing from 1971 to 1992 and did the captaincy for 10 years from 1982-1992. He get retired in the 1987 world cup but again called back on the highly request of the president Zia Ul Haq to lead the team once again. When he was 39 years old lead his team and gets the victory. He is also one of the players who achieved an “All-rounder’s Triple” in the test series.
In 1996 he founded a party named “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf” which mean Movement for Justice and becomes its chairman. He is elected for the parliamentarian for the city “Mianwali” in the national assembly from the year 2002 to 2007. He with the passage of time becomes the second favorite political party in all over the country.  He is also become an “Asia’s Person” for the year 2012 from the Asia Society.
Personal Life:
Imran khan born in Lahore and is an only son of his parents. His father is a civil engineer. He is a citizen of a city Mianwali and is a pasthun ethnicity. In his youth he is a quiet and shy boy. He has four sisters and grew with them. He gets the education from Lahore and went to England for further study where he started paying cricket. In 1972 he gets enroll in Keble College, oxford and studied politician and gets the gradation degree with honors in 1975.
In 1995 he got married with Jemima Goldsmith in Paris, and gets married again in England according to the Civil Ceremony. She accepted the Islam and both of them have two sons name Sulaiman Isa and kasim. The both face many crises in their nine years married life and later they are separated in the year 2004. The reason of divorce is that the Jemima is not feeling comfortable in living and adapting the life in Pakistan. In January 2015 he done the second married with Reham Khan which is a british-Pakistani journalist and announced the divorce in the month of Oct 2015.
Awards:
  • Khan is featured in the University of Oxford's Hall of Fame and has been an honorary fellow of Oxford's Keble College.
  • In 1976 and 1980, Khan was awarded The Cricket Society Wetherall Award for being the leading all-rounder in English first-class cricket.
  • In 1983, he was also named Wisden Cricketer of the Year
  • In 1983, he received the president's Pride of Performance Award
  • In 1985, Sussex Cricket Society Player of the Year
  • In 1992, Khan was given Pakistan's civil award, the Hilal-i-Imtiaz
  • On 8 July 2004, Khan was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2004 Asian Jewel Awards in London, for "acting as a figurehead for many international charities and working hard in fund-raising activities."
  • On 7 December 2005, Khan was appointed the fifth Chancellor of the University of Bradford, where he is also a patron of the Born in Bradford research project.
  • On 13 December 2007, Khan received the Humanitarian Award at the Asian Sports Awards in Kuala Lumpur for his efforts in setting up the first cancer hospital in Pakistan.
  • On 5 July 2008, he was one of several veteran Asian cricketers presented special silver jubilee awards at the inaugural Asian Cricket Council (ACC) award ceremony in Karachi.
  • In 2009, at the International Cricket Council's centennial year celebration, Khan was one of fifty-five cricketers inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame.
  • In 2011 he was given the Jinnah Award.
  • On 28 July 2012, Imran Khan was awarded an honorary fellowship by the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in recognition of his services for cancer treatment in Pakistan.
  • In 2012 according to Pew Research Center, seven out of ten Pakistani respondents offered a favourable opinion about Khan. The survey also revealed that Khan enjoys popularity among youth.
