Misbah-ul-Haq


Misbah ul Haq is a Pakistani cricketer who lives and spends his early life in Mianwali, Punjab.  He was born on 28 may 1974. He is a right handed batsman and right arm leg break bowling style.He starts playing cricket from the tab ball for his home town. But from the cricket his parents are not happy and insist to continue and have good education. He pursues MBA in HRM from the university of Management and Technology. Misbah made the debut in 1998 at the age of 24 and is selected for the Pakistani national test matches and the ODIs in the year 2001.

He is a current Pakistani test captain of the Pakistan national cricket team and also plays a role of the captaincy in ODIs until the year 2005 before his retirements. He is a middle order batsman and is known for the composure and shows aggressive shots when it is required by the Pakistani cricket team. He is one of the top scorers among all the players who haven’t done the centuries in ODIs. He scored the fastest half century and also holds the record of the fastest century but have share the title with the Vivian Richards but is gone later and went to the Brendon McCullum.   Due to the lack of fitness he is dropped by the international cricket team many times including 2002 and 2009 year.

  • Fastest Fifty in Tests (21 Balls) completed in 24 minutes against Australia in Abu Dhabi.
  • Most half centuries without making an ODI century - Misbah has 42 half-centuries without a single century.
  • Leading run scorer in ODIs during 2013.
  • Most ODI fifties (15) in a calendar year (2013).
  • Joint second fastest century in Tests (56 balls) against Australia on 2 November 2014 in Abu Dhabi.
  • Pakistan's most successful Test captain with 20 wins.
  • First captain from South Asia to beat South Africa in South Africa.
  • Only second captain from Pakistan to win Asia Cup (2012).
  • Eighth Pakistani player to hit centuries in both innings of a test match.
  • Only Asian Captain to win 4 or more Test matches against England.
  • Most Test centuries by a Pakistan Test captain.
  • The first batsman to make a Test hundred after the age of 41 since Geoffrey Boycott in 1981
Criticism:

Misbah perform well but has gone through many criticism from senior players and the  journalists of Pakistan. This list of criticizers includes Ramiz Raja, Waqar Younis, Inzaman Ul Haq and Mohammad Yousaf. Few of the criticizers have become admirers now for him that include Ramiz Raja and Waqar Younis.
